2021 Overview

*NEW* Ditcheat Hill 2021 4.5% 75cl

The new vintage of this perennial favourite. 2021 was an exceptional year for apple quality but gave just a small crop in our Ditcheat Hill orchard. We tweaked the blend to adjust for this and have introduced Dove and Harry Masters Jersey alongside Yarlington Mill, Ashton Brown Jersey, Browns and Sweet Coppin. The mild winter of 21/22 has resulted in a drier cider than usual and I think this vintage of Ditcheat Hill is our best yet. Still sweet but just revealing a little more of the special terroir in this beautiful orchard. A small harvest, around half as much as previous vintages.

 

Eastwood Manor 2021 5.3% 75cl 

A light cropping year overall in 2021 led to some orchard explorations around the local area and we were happy to find some beautiful fruit in this young traditional orchard on the other side of the chew valley from the home farm. The light and juicy fruit of Yeovil Sour (gooseberry, lemon zest, pineapple) partners very well with the soft, grippy tannins of young tree Dabinett and Black Dabinett (minerality, marmalade, autumnal orchard) and the whole thing is just insanely drinkable. No need for food pairings - you'll drink it before the cooking is finished.
